At Community Bible Church of Highland we have recently completed a refined and specific vision of ministry with long term goals. We have a clear purpose and values statement that ties it together. Read it here.

OUR BELIEFS
AFFILIATION
We are a non-denominational, independent Bible Church. Doctrinal integrity is a priority.
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
He is the only way to God and is Himself, God.
THE GOSPEL
It is the Good News of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. The penalty of our sins was paid for on the cross.
SALVATION
It is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. It is the gift of complete forgiveness and eternal life as a result of the repentance of faith.
ETERNAL SECURITY
This means believers are kept by God’s power and secure in Christ forever. This does not mean we are free to sin.
THE BIBLE
It is the inspired word of God, without error in the original writings. We also believe we must make certain the Bible is taught accurately.
THE TRINITY
He is God with one essence, existing in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
He is a Person and is in this world to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He indwells believers and leads us to pursue gifts or ministries that build up the church. He is our power to share Christ.
SIGN GIFTS
Certain gifts, such as speaking in tongues, were meant to be temporary to verify the Gospel, especially to the nation of Israel.
CREATION
In light of true scientific evidence and most importantly as Genesis says, it is true and not evolution. This has significant ramifications.
ANGELS
These are spiritual beings with access to the world to render service for believers.
SATAN AND DEMONS
These are spiritual beings with access to the world to deceive people regarding the Gospel and the Word of God.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH
It happens through prayer, reading and obeying the word of God, regular fellowship and worship, and sharing the good news of Christ.
THE CHURCH
It is the body of Christ made up of all born again believers in this present age. The local church is where believers minister.
THE ORDINANCES
They consist of baptism of believers by immersion and the Lord’s Table as a solemn memorial of Christ’s death.
THE BELIEVER AS A PRIEST
This means every believer has equal access to God and must grow in understanding our exalted position in Christ.
MARRIAGE
It was instituted by God, is by nature heterosexual, and is one man and one woman in a permanent union throughout life. Homosexuality is a sinful perversion of God’s creation.
DIVORCE
We do not counsel divorce and remarriage, nor do we make second class Christians of those divorced or remarried. Our position paper clarifies and is available upon request.
RETURN OF CHRIST
It begins with the rapture of His Church, which is imminent. This view purifies us and makes the blessed hope, before the Tribulation, real.
THE ETERNAL STATE
It is everlasting joy in heaven for believers in Christ and everlasting conscious torment away from God for those without Christ.
JUDGEMENT
This event in the presence of Christ means believers will be rewarded based on their deeds and faithfulness to evangelism and discipleship.
OUR RESPONSIBILITY
It is living by the Spirit of Christ and not by the impulses of the world, our sinful nature, or dark spiritual forces.
FINANCIAL GIVING
It is not obligation to the tithe, but is to be gracious, as God has prospered the believer, for the ministry of the church. Those who sow sparingly will reap sparingly, and those who sow bountifully will reap bountifully.
MEMBERSHIP
It is a commitment to a local church, agreeing to support and encourage its leadership and one another in life and ministry as the Bible says.
